Earthquake information
The last few months have been a stressful ol' time for a huge number of people and their precious pets!
Bunny Lodge has been extremely fortunate during the recent earthquakes, with no substantial damage. We have therefore been able to assist a lot of Christchurch and Canterbury pets, providing safe and secure accommodation. In fact, it has been noticeable that many of the pets arrived here
in a traumatised state, but settled very quickly and calmly within our routines and happy environment. Of course it helps that we feel very few of the aftershocks out here. Most of the pets have returned home now, although some will be with us for several months during house repairs, rebuilds,
new purchases etc.
Over the coming months, home-owners, landlords, assessors and insurance companies will begin to make decisions. Bunny Lodge is able to assist in providing short and long term accommodation for the very important furry members of the families, during the rebirth of Christchurch.
Bookings availability
Planning everything around builders, weather and EQC is sometimes not easy. Most often, because of our large capacity, we can handle bookings that are flexible in duration. So if the job gets finished more quickly than expected, or unfortunately gets extended, it
is no problem to adjust dates as necessary.
Insurance payments
Bunny Lodge already has great relationships with the various insurance companies. We have been impressed with the way so many claims have been resolved and paid already, and the companies have respected our invoices as accurate, honest and unbloated.
Providing that the claim details have
been lodged and agreed to, then in most instances we invoice the insurance company directly. This often means that customers do not need to pay for any boarding at all!
Visiting hours
While the pets are staying, we welcome and encourage their owners to come and visit as often as they like. We have large paddocks here in which the dogs and their owners can play together. All we ask is that the owners discuss with us what the best times for this might be.
Alternatively, the dogs can go out for a few hours (or even the whole day) to join the family for a picnic at the river or other exciting venues. All we ask is that the dogs don't get spoiled with too many treats, which sometimes come out the other end in a rather messy fashion!
And the cats can get cuddles from their owners too - either inside the building or outside in our secure garden area.
